Reason Why Jem Was Crying

Have you cried for some reason that nobody knows? Sometimes, it is very complicated to figure out the reason of crying. On page 84 in To Kill A Mockingbird (TKAM), Mr. Nathan put cement in the knothole in the tree and Jem had been crying while he was standing and looking at the tree. It is very mysterious because the author did not state why Jem was crying. In my opinion, Jem had been crying because he would not be able to get presents such as a watch, from the knothole. Moreover, it is possible that Jem was crying because he found out who put the presents in the knothole, and why Mr. Nathan put the cement in the knothole. Consequently, there are two possible reasons that show why Jem had been crying.
